Valve resmi olarak Steam Mac bölümünün açıldığını duyurdu. Şu an için Mac bölümünde 57 adet oyun bulunuyor. Mac bölümünün açılması ile yapılan promasyonlaran en dikkat çekini Portal oyununun 24 Mayıs'a kadar hem Mac hem de Pc için ücretsiz olması. Ayrıca Diablo 2 benzeri Torchlight da %50 indirim ile 9.99 dolara satın alınabiliyor.
Mac bölümü açıldı ama henüz Steam Mac uygulaması beta aşmasından olduğundan tam olarak aktif olduğu söylenemez. Pc versiyonları da olan pek çok Mac oyunu indirilebiliyor ama özellikle yeni oyunlar uygulama içinden henüz satın alınamıyor. Tabii Steam'in internet sayfasından rahatlıkla satın alabilirsiniz. Steam'in Mac için olan uygulamasında ilginç bir nokta da fark edilmiş. Uygulamanın kodlarında Linux platformunun da adı geçiyor yani belki de önümüzdeki bir zamanda Valve Linux için de Steam'i hayata geçirebilir.
